AMY M BENNETT
About me
Amy M. Bennett is a contemporary artist based in Hillsboro, Oregon, known for bold designs that push the boundaries of traditional lettering. Born and raised in Oregon, she has a BA from Portland State University in Graphic Design and Art History. Using cut paper, ink, and graphite, Bennett merges precise craftsmanship with a fluid, expressive approach. Her work has been featured in Letter Arts Review and in exhibits by the Chicago Calligraphy Collective and Hillsboro's Civic Center.
“I hand-cut all of my cut paper pieces with an X-Acto knife. My process with papercutting is open-ended, with each design unfolding into its own series. I often create one piece from the primary cut and let the leftover fragments inspire new, independent works. This allows each element to evolve naturally, sparking a chain of creations from a single design.”
